Identity

Puerto Rico Canine Training, LLC was not born solely as a training company, but as a clear vision: to establish structured, responsible processes based on scientific evidence within canine training in Puerto Rico. We believe that every dog deserves clarity in their learning and every family deserves the security of professional, conscious, and technically sound handling.

VISION

We aspire to raise the professional standard of training on the island, demonstrating that structure, science, and ethics can coexist with empathy and respect for the dog and its family.

Commitment

We understand that working with dogs implies a direct impact on the safety, cohabitation, and quality of life of every family. For this reason, every intervention begins with a formal evaluation and is developed under technical criteria and defined protocols that prioritize the physical well-being and emotional stability of the animal.

Anayla Fontán Núñez

Marine Biologist, Master Dog Trainer, and Founder of Puerto Rico Canine Training, LLC.

The vision of Puerto Rico Canine Training is deeply linked to my personal and professional trajectory. My path in animal behavior began in the sea as a marine biologist but took a definitive turn on land through direct work with dogs and their families.

Rescuing Marek, a pitbull mix with reactivity challenges toward other dogs, marked a before and after in my career. Accompanying his process awakened my deep interest in behavior modification and in the learning principles that allow for real and lasting changes.

My training began working alongside trainers, participating in seminars and specialized courses, until I decided to continue my formal preparation at the School for Dog Trainers in North Carolina, where I completed the Master Dog Trainer Program with the initial purpose of training Chencho, who later became a service dog for mobility assistance.

During that process, I completed an intensive internship focused mainly on the development of service dogs for mobility, autism, epilepsy, hearing loss, and PTSD. I also trained in complementary areas such as detection, patrol, protection, and complex behavior modification, expanding my understanding of different levels of drive and temperament.

I have 4 years of professional experience in advanced obedience, behavior modification, and specialized training, always focused on structured and technically grounded processes.

I am a member of the International Association of Canine Professionals (IACP) and founder of the Fundación Narices, an organization dedicated to assisted intervention programs with dogs in communities.

I firmly believe in continuous education and professional responsibility. For me, every dog I meet is a teacher; I learn as much from them as from their guardians. Being part of processes that generate stability, trust, and understanding between dogs and families is one of the greatest responsibilities — and also one of the greatest privileges — of my career.
